Our movements are learned rather than instinctive. Limited movement that stems from misuse or accident often becomes habitual. These restricted habits are integrated into our existing movement repertoire, and become our new "normal".

Over time, we become stuck with less than ideal movement that is often accompanied by pain or discomfort.
