More on Barefoot Running

April 29, 2010

My friend Susinn, the barefoot runner sent me an update which I thought would be of interest to those of you who were following the postings on barefoot running.

I am running 3x a week and hiking once a week in my Vibram Five Fingers; my runs are getting longer. I had a little blip of heel and ankle soreness after running hilly trails but I do 'hydrotherapy'; that is to soak my feet in cold water—as cold and as long as I can. Our run club really advocates this and I hear stories of runners using it to successfully get over shin splints and knee injury. Here in Kamloops we can usually just head to the river after a run.
