Hola a todos

December 28, 2018

Hola a todos (Hi Everyone),

I wish you a wonderful holiday season and all good things in the coming year. It is a busy time with family gatherings, parties and holiday preparations. Between Christmas and the New Year is a good time to reflect the past year and the changes you want to make for the next 12 months.

I feel twice blessed being in Mexico. I'm away from most of the hustle and bustle, and have the luxury of the space and time to be grateful for all the blessings of the past year and ready myself for new possibilities in 2019.

As I write this I can look out my window and see the purple mountains across the Bay of Banderas, the white buildings nestled into the hill behind Puerto Vallarta, and the expansive sky with birds wheeling and diving in the air currents. Although I live in the busiest part of the city and at the intersection of two major streets I am seven stories up in a perch removed from the dramas of day-to-day life. I am delighted to have the opportunity to continue my Spanish studies and am feeling like my fluency with the language is increasing poco a poco (little by little) as they say here.

I'm also happy to report, I am still able to participate in the planning of the Canadian Training that will take place in Kelowna within the next 12 to 18 months. Being away is also giving me more time to spend in my on-going Feldenkrais studies that continue to help me expand my knowledge and be a better practitioner.

Office is Open

I will be returning to Kelowna at the beginning of February and, in the meantime, Susinn Shaler is looking after my clients. If you need an appointment you may still call the office and see her. Cindy Shave is also continuing her classes and you may see her January schedule under Classes.

Release Shoulder Tension

We all carry a certain amount of tension in our shoulders particularly if you do a lot of driving or computer work. Cynthia Allen, one of my Feldenkrais colleagues, shows how you can get rid of a great deal of that tension with one simple little maneuver in this video: Release Shoulder Tension Exercise: Part I by Cynthia Allen
