Turning Stumbling Blocks Into Stepping Stones
To create a life that’s meaningful and satisfying is a challenge we all face but some of us are given greater obstacles to overcome than others. There are a select few who are able to turn their stumbling blocks into stepping stones for themselves and others. My friend and colleague, Feldenkrais® practitioner Marylyn Horsman, is one of these people and she has chosen to share her experiences in the hope that it will make the lives of others easier. Diagnosed with cerebral palsy as a child she’s never let it stop her from achieving her goals in life. Last fall Marylyn completed her Masters Degree at the University of British Columbia in Rehabilitation Sciences. Her research examined a group of conditions affecting movement and muscle coordination in aging adults with cerebral palsy—an area that had been neglected until she did her project. Read the article about Marylyn that appeared in UBC Reports.
